I’ve said it before and will say it again. We all need to work together to call people out when they toss around the term “anti-science” or when they claim they “believe in the science.” For too long, we have accepted the misapplication of this anti-science term instead of rightly questioning those throwing it around.

Back in the mid 70's I did some reseach that questions the numbers associated with the Polio vaccine's claim to wipe oout that disease. Without the internet, my paper was lost to time. On July 2, 2015, the Washington State Department of Health issued a press release titled, “Measles led to death of Clallam Co. woman; first in US in a dozen years.” Within hours, the release began to be picked up by numerous media sources, including ABC News , BuzzFeed News, CBS News, CNN, Forbes, Fox News, NBC News, Reuter , Slate, the Detroit Free Press, The Huffington Post, The New York Times, the Puget Sound Business Journal, The Seattle Times, The Verge, the Washington Examiner, and The Washington Post.
The following letter was written on July 1, 2015 to Governor Jerry Brown of California by Dawn Richardson, the director of advocacy for the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC). It carried the subject heading, “SB 277 Vaccine Bill Violating Human and Civil Rights is a Grave Mistake and is Inconsistent With Your Previous Positions.”
