10 POWERFUL PRAYERS FOR 2020 – CHANGE YOUR LIFE, YOUR BUSINESS, AND PROTECT YOUR FAMILY’S FUTURE

  1. Trust-fall prayers.  At some point like Jesus you have to say to the Father, “Into your hands I commit my spirit” (Luke 23:46).  Take a year and give it all up to God.  Say, “Father – it’s your home, it’s your family, it’s your money, it’s your business, it’s your body, and my life is yours – I’ll go anywhere you want me to go since you’ve promised to always go with me.”

  2. Go Big or Go Home Prayers.  Big people are not inspired by small vision.  It’s not just another year of many, but the first step of one life.  Going for it in life really matters. Life is designed to be lived abundantly.

  3. Pray for God-Vision (Not people vision).  The Bible says, “Without prophetic vision, the people shall perish” (Prov 29:18).  Prophetic means, a vision from God (Not a vision from man).

  4. Pray for provision.  With every prophetic vision there is provision.  God will not send you down a path without also making sure the necessary resources are provided. You can move forward with certainty and unyielding hope when its more clear that your life, your work, and your ministry are glorifying God.

  5. Pray praise.  Ultimately, we’re here to praise God, represent Him on the earth, be a co-laborer with Him, and expand His territory. Example praise prayers; “Lord, I honor you, I exalt you, I magnify you, I lift you up, I bless you, I glorify your name; which is above all names, rulers, powers, and authorities.”

  6. Thank you, thank you, thank you Prayers.  This is such a big one.  Even people that don’t believe in God will throw up a prayer now and then in times of trouble.  There’s a little catch thrown into the process here in Philippians 4:6-7 where it says to pray “with thanksgiving…. and then the peace of God….”      Before you pray, while you pray, and as you wrap it up – give thanks.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Phil 4:6)

Thankfulness for what He’s done and acknowledging that if He’s done great things for you and this world in the past; He’s willing to
do it again.  We can be thankful that He doesn’t forsake the righteous, our God never fails.  He is a friend that is closer than a brother.  He will not leave your nor forsake you.  He’s with you wherever you go.

  1. Daily household Prayers.  As Joshua famously said, ”As for me and my house, we’re going to serve the Lord.”  Pray for those you love out-loud, for them to hear, every day you can.  That’s where the magic happens at home.

  2. Pray for the other team.  Ouch! Praying for enemies is a really, really tough one.  Yet, Jesus points out that even the most-evil people on the planet pray for the ones that love them.  He says, “But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons (and daughters) of your Father in heaven.”

  3. Blues Brothers Prayers.  Jake and Elwood Blues, “The Blues Brothers,” could overcome any obstacle, defeat any challenge, meet any deadline, and do the impossible because as they declared, “We’re on a Mission from God.” Jesus said that all authority has been given to Him on heaven and on earth (Mt 28:18-20).  He then tells us, “Tag you’re it” - go and fulfill the great co-mission.

If you’re on the co-mission from Jesus you’re on a mission from God – and can go into the future knowing you have power and authority.

  1. Pray for the Word.  This is your most powerful tool for 2020. Jesus used the Word to defeat Satan in the wilderness because no military ammunition forged by men can truly overcome our most powerful enemy.  Check out what this weapon can do: “The word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joins and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart” (Heb 4:12).

Pray for the desire and ability to better read, memorize, utilize, and equip others with the Word.
